I’m adding yours to the list of questions women have asked about men over the years, and I will answer them all in turn – to continue to demystify the more malodorous gender for those of the gentler. Question:<\/strong>\u00a0 Why are men such adrenaline junkies?<\/em><\/p>\n Answer:<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 Ah, a TOUGH question.\u00a0 Why is it that the two most common sets of \u201clast words\u201d that men say just before they die are \u201coh shit\u201d and, running a close second, \u201cHey ya\u2019ll, watch this!\u201d\u00a0 In large part, this is showmanship.\u00a0 It\u2019s not just the chemical adrenaline rush \u2013 although that\u2019s a big part of it.\u00a0<\/p>\n It\u2019s the audience.\u00a0 If you weren\u2019t watching, we\u2019d probably be content to scratch our balls and look at something shiny on television.\u00a0 But we know you or someone like you will be looking, or it might be another guy watching.\u00a0 If it\u2019s you, we want you to see how tough, how brave we are \u2013 something deep in our genetic code thinks you\u2019ll be impressed, and the other guys intimidated.\u00a0 Never mind that quit working about 8,000 years ago.\u00a0 (Well, it quit working on women.\u00a0 Most guys are still intimidated when we see another guy do something really<\/strong> crazy and live through it.)\u00a0<\/p>\n Then, once you\u2019ve done it, you find out what a great rush it is.\u00a0 Like most drugs, you need more to reach that high a second time, so you have to do something crazier<\/strong>!\u00a0 This is why the most hard core adrenaline junkies don\u2019t breed often \u2013 they crash into something before they impress enough women.<\/p>\n Now you know.
