I’ve decided to count down to Thinksgiving, and take a moment each day to think about things I’m thankful for.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Number Four:\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0Great Neighbors.<\/p>\n It’s hard to overstate this.\u00a0 Sometimes you just have people who live near you, and sometimes you have neighbors.\u00a0 We have neighbors.\u00a0 They come over, borrow things, and return them in better shape than they were when they left.\u00a0 Our neighbors once stole my car.\u00a0 They washed it,\u00a0waxed it, and brought it back.\u00a0 (Honestly they may have been worried that the car was lowering their property values, but still.)<\/p>\n Our neighbors call when they need help with things, even if those things are just helping to finish a bottle of something yummy.\u00a0 They help us with these things too.\u00a0 (“Oh, no!\u00a0 We have too much wine over here, someone come to our rescue,” is not a wholly uncommon cry on our block.)\u00a0 Great neighbors make coming home from vacation less like coming home from vacation and more like coming home to tell new stories about what happened while you were away.\u00a0<\/p>\n A great neighborhood, worth being thankful for since that other tribe moved in over the next hill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" I’ve decided to count down to Thinksgiving, and take a moment each day to think about things I’m thankful for.
